Portrait Painting with Jonathan Yeo Reviews

What was your primary motivation for purchasing this course? Learn a new skill
It is more like an interview with Yeo than an art course. Very sparse on instruction or demonstration and the course notes are simply a reiteration of what is said in the videos. I. Was expecting more in-depth detail. I learned very little and am more than disappointed.

What was your primary motivation for purchasing this course? Achieve career goals
I've enjoyed a successful career in graphic design for over two decades, but am keen to one day return to my first passion - painting! Art school seems like a lifetime away, so it's been fascinating, and enjoyable, to gain some valuable insights into Jonathan's processes. This has really helped give me confidence in the way that I work and to continue experimenting. Thank you Jonathan

The course is very interesting. It's also nice to hear Jonathan talk about his thoughts of his way to were he is now.

I’m absolutely loving learning with Jonathan Yeo. I’m only 10 lessons in (out of 27) but it’s looking like my progress, learning and momentum will continue!

What was your primary motivation for purchasing this course? Pursue a hobby
The course wasn’t what I was expecting as I thought it would be more practical. However I did find it interesting to hear Jonathan speak and provide his thoughts. It was more a mentoring lecture course than a painting course. I think I learnt quite a few things from it and ideas - I liked hearing how he got into portrait painting and how he approached various things such as lighting choosing a subject how to capture a likeness. Some bits were a bit repetitive. I thought it was quite expensive for essentially an interview

I too paint, so the subject intrigues me. I can listen to discussions for hours. I appreciate his style and conversation.

I'm taking a career break from science and am thrilled I have taken the annual subscription to Maestro. Listening to Jonathan's journey is fabulous and the notes are helpful. I know I'll be able to implement some of the ideas as I move forward with identifying which creative pursuits I would like to explore further as new hobbies.
