I’m not all the way through yet, but I’d liked to have seen more information like does he use Acrylic to prime the canvas with colour or just oil? Whilst his sitter is a lovely handsome gentlemen, I would have preferred to see a sitter of Caucasian extraction as the colours are much more difficult to get right. Also the face and background meld a lot so difficult to see what exactly he’s painting. I feel he’s doing this but also worried about future competition.

Perhaps it is because he is a self taught painter or that the course isn't really aimed at artists but I found this course useless. The amount of talking he does was painful to sit through all to find a few nuggets of worthwhile information. I am half way through the hours of video and am not sure I can watch the rest. He is not a teacher. He does not have to explain over and over that there isn't a right way or wrong way to do something but he does it.... yes I get it and it his way of doing things that I want to hear about, but I can't bear to listen to the rest of it. Just get to the point. I am sad that I wasted my money on this course. If I can stomach the rest of the videos and in the unlikely case that it gets better I will revise this review . I would rather get my money back.

What was your primary motivation for purchasing this course? Achieve career goals
I am a professional artist starting out on a new career and am interested in how others pursue their practice. This course is extremely informative and helpful. I am really leaning a lot about how to approach portraits and to not be discouraged at this point in my career.

Very intersting chap - and enjoying it-thought maybe he would paint a bit more and say why he is doing a particular thing -in other words talking and painting together-but he's very informative.

I am enjoying the course up to now and feel confident that the guidance that I am receiving will help me to progress my portrait painting. Jonathan has a very relaxed style that makes me feel that we are having a one to one lesson.

Enjoyed Portrait Painting a lot. Even my 11 year old granddaughter joined me. She loved it too.

Fascinating insights. Enjoying greatly. Personal ways he paints and approaches portraits. Never prescriptive.

I am still in the midst of viewing the videos, but have read through the entire notes that go along with them. I must say I am anxious to get going on testing what I believe will help my work. In other words, it's time to start doing. That energy in itself was worth the price of the class. Time will tell, but in the meantime, many Thanks to Mr. Yeo for my added enthusiasm.
