It would be much better to see more demonstrations of what's being said. All very well sitting talking but most if us learn much better being shown what is meant. I'm only half way through but it's becoming tedious to continue.

Hi Joy, Thanks for your review. We value every BBC Maestro customer, and really value your feedback. All courses have detailed course notes to accompany them, which a lot of learners find really useful when watching a course, especially when completing the course exercises to put some of the learnings into practice! I hope this helps, but feel free to contact our amazing customer service team at support@bbcmaestro.com if you would like more support! Best, Rebecca

Jonathan Yeo has kindled my enthusiasm for portrait painting by his lightness of touch and engaging manner. His expertise is clearly hard-won and solid, but he wears it lightly and shares all kinds of fascinating insights into his craft. It is also wonderful to watch him working during the course. Many examples are provided to illustrate the points he makes, and the depth and pace of the presentations is judged very well. It neither flags nor rushes. Above all, his un-fussy approach and infectious enthusiasm have really given me momentum to carry on practising, improving and enjoying my own art.

I have done lots of courses over many years. This is the most descriptive and helpful one one ever! I am learning so much. I have not completed the course yet but am loving it at every stage. I have done art forever but portraits are new to me. I'm so pleased I found Jonathon Yeo's course. I hope there will be more in depth teaching from Jonathon Yeo on BBC Maestro ~ PLEASE!! Sincerely Myrna CARR

Yeo is clearly a brilliant artist and I greatly admire his work. However, there is far too much talking in the course and not nearly enough instruction of technique and method. When the lesson is just talking, which is often, the videos are too long and it is hard to remain interested. They become more about the different camera angles that the director is using and their ability to go in and out of focus. I am impressed by Yeo’s work but would like more hard facts.
