“I started noticing Harlan Coben's name on some Netflix series. Not having read any of his books, I was curious. The first series I watched was The Stranger and I was intrigued by the many plot twists and how well they moved the story along. As a writer, I find myself disecting the story while I am watching or reading, trying to learn from the author or screenwriter to improve my own writing. When I saw that Harlan had a course on BBC Maestro, I had to watch and I am so glad I did. I was so glad to hear Harlan talk about being a "pantser" since this is how I see myself. I have read several books on writing, including "Save The Cat" with its very structured approach to storytelling, and I find it frustrating that I don't tend to plan every aspect of the story before jumping in. I take the same "seat of the pants" approach to my business life, and it serves me well, so Harlan has given me a fresh look at my process and let me know it could be right for me.”

“Harlan cuts to the chase, no fluff etc. Each lesson offers a wealth of tips for me as a beginner and he explain by showing example from his books. Some other authors just use the time and space to promote themselves. I've downloaded the coiurse for future and will i'm sure watch all the lessons again. I just wish we could have him give a review of our stories. Great course for writers who just want to know 'how to do it'.”
