“Damn him! Here I was happy woth my sci fi thriller and then I took Harlen's course. Caused me to take a long hard look into the mirror and rewrite the entire first half of my novel. Well actually alI of it when realised that not everyone had a secret, not everyone one had a relationship, a hidden back story. In fact, the antagonists weren't well defined enough. This almost made me kill the book. But like all great stories it's worked out well and a far far better story thanks to the big H.”

“I wish I'd taken this course 6 years ago. I write thrillers and have self published 4 ebooks on Amazon. I think they have gotten progressively better as I've written each one, but sales have been disappointing to say the least, and I've had no luck finding an agent or publisher. My story is a thriller saga that I think would make a great streaming series, but I've no idea how to pitch that and to whom. Note I haven't finished the course yet. I look forward to the rest of the course”

“It feels I have the opportunity to chat with one of my favourite writers He talks very sincerely and explains everything in a very clear and simple way. I love when he gives examples from his books and personal experience. The course is divided into topics in a practical way. It ıs very insert courses into daily life routine.”
“I understand that it is not easy to teach a topic like this. You can't write the book for people.
But I found it very generalised/broad, akin more to life coaching for writers.
That said, so much has to do with innate talent anyway - being able to imagine characters, plot etc.(coupled with application drive etc.), that a course can only go so far in unpacking the skillset.”
