Battery usage bars indicatiors are 'Not very Accurate' as initially each bar represents more time than the lower bars (eg the first 50% (2 bars) lasts much longer than the last 50% 2 bars.)
The overall battery charge time when new is good but this deteriorated very quickly, from 7+ hours to 4 hours, for my old camera, after just over 1 year. Hopefully this newer camera will not drop off so quickly.”

“While I absolutely LOVE the Fly12 (I must, because I've been purchasing one every 15-18 months for the last three or four years) I abhor the inability for such a costly device to last a full two years. First of all, engineers need to figure out a way to install a heatsink because using the light and camera at the same time in subtropical Florida basically cooks the components in about 15 months. Secondly, once we figured out using the device as only a camera will increase the life about three or four months, we still have difficutly nursing it along to a two-year usage. Yes, I understand you guys probably only engineer a specific number of charges per device, but we're able to ride almost every day, so we rapidly run out of charges lasting the full five or six hours. Leaving the house for a three- or four-hour ride is normal, but soon after the year is up, we're only getting about an hour of use. So while I tell my friends how well the device works for about a year, I feel compelled to warn them about the lack of logevity. It's a shame, too, because I have captured a couple accidents, one of which was used to generate a settlement once the attorney divulged that there was video evidence. We try to always leave the house with both the Fly12 and the Fly6 fully charged and recording, but sometimes, that is a challenge if we're over the one-year mark. When it works, it's a beautiful thing.”
