I had the FLY12 CE previously which I wore out over a number of years. The FLY 12 Sport is a much improved unit compared to the CE. Functionality has improved and the illuminated status at the back is very welcome.

I had a Fly12 CE for 5 years it gave me no problems at all and was very reliable, it generated income for the QLD Police on many occasions when the battery gave up I replaced it with the Sport early days yet but happy with it so far

The Fly12 Sport is fantastic. So easy to use. I used to use a GoPro but on longer rides it would run out of battery and I'd have to choose when I had it running. Also I used to have to clear the storage regularly. With the Fly12 I can just turn it on and forget about it unless I need to use the footage. The only negative is with the actual purchasing of the camera. I cannot believe you charge £20 for express shipping, that is insane. Not only that, the express shipping is royal mail tracked 48 which is a 2 day service, not express. I know for a fact that tracked 48 costs less than £5. Charging £20 for this is not right at all. I realise that there will be a fulfillment cost on top of the shipping but still..not right.

The overall features of this device are the real deal, from the video recording quality and the variable light options. There is a noticeable sound recording difference between the Fly12 and the Fly6 where the Fly6 has better audible volume capture. That is my only constructive critique of this device. I did see a device filter accessory among the accessory options for this device. Maybe that is the solution for this noticeable difference between the Fly6. So as it is, the Fly12 gets 4 stars/ 5 stars for me.

It’s good, I wish the fly6 have the long same battery durations as the fly12

I like the form factor. Since it looks just like a headlight, it's less of a target for thieves, and makes recording more discrete. Easy to use. I like that it just writes videos to an SD card in a standard open format (MP4) rather than forcing you to use some screwball app. Videos can be viewed either by moving the SD card to an SD card reader, or by plugging the whole camera in to a computer via its USB-C port. Plugging it in both charges it and enumerates as a mass storage device so the videos can be pulled off by whatever app you want (or just the computer's native file manager). I did install the Android app which lets you update settings (e.g. video frame rate) but I haven't needed the app much otherwise, except for periodically using it to set the camera's time. The settings are stored on the SD card in a file called config.txt, but unfortunately the syntax is undocumented; it'd be great if the docs included a description of the config parameters so that they can be configured with a text editor rather than needing an app at all. I'm giving the camera 4 stars because it lacks one feature I'd love, which is GNSS (GPS). GNSS chips only cost a couple dollars and I'd gladly pay a few dollars more in exchange for having the lat/lon and speed included on the status line at the bottom. Also, having GNSS would keep me from having to set the time manually using the app, as I currently do weekly, because accurate timestamps are important to me.
