“First of all, I have been using fly12 for a year and I am very satisfied that the 12 sports I bought this time have become lighter and smaller. The LCD information screen is also good to know the condition of the battery.
But there are also disadvantages. Even if the notification sound is set to max on the app, it is too small to hear well, and the brightness of the headlight is not a problem, but the width of the light is narrow, making it a bit uncomfortable. The charging and sd slots have become simpler than the previous one, but it is a little inconvenient because I have to open them using my nails. This is how I feel after my 3times of rides, 200km in total. I hope you all ride safely!”
“Not sure this is an improvement on the previous model. The sound is very quiet, basically can't hear the unit at all whilst riding despite having it set to the highest volume. The silicone case doesn't fit very well and the supplied plastic lens protectors do not fit at all - suggest they are for the previous model. The screen on the rear of the unit doesn't really add any value and increases complexity/cost. When mounting the Fly12 below the handlebars the screen is obscured by the bars anyway and it's too small to actually see anything whilst riding. The buttons on the unit are now on the right hand side which means when mounting under the bars they are more difficult to access for someone who is right handed. On the plus side, battery life seems to be improved and the light functions are simplified which is good. The random light setting is a nice touch and camera quality is great. Battery life on the previous model was barely lasting a two hour ride on low settings which is the main reason I bought the new unit. Overall, not really something I would rush out and upgrade to but as a camera/light unit it works well. Four stars.”
“I bought this to mainly use on my commute to & from work. As it's now dark on my rides the light works really well but camera could do with a better night mode but it should be good enough just in case something does happen. I like it's style and has a long battery life unlike some other cameras, easy to use and I do actually feel safer knowing that I can record any events which may occur.”
“This is a nice improvement over the original Fly12. I particularly like the LED screen showing battery level and function (video only, light flash + video, etc.) They made a new camera/light smaller and lighter. This might be attractive for some, but I would have preferred a longer lasting battery at full power. I participate in group rides that last upto 3+ hours at night and like a bigger, longer lasting battery. If aiming for compactness, they should add a USB C connection that accepts an external battery while the camera/light is in use.”
