“This is by far the best action camera I own, it out lasts my Go Pro and makes longer rides safer. Before this I could only record for a maximum of 90 minutes. I can easily go for my usual 4 to 5 hours rides with confidence that the battery will last.”
“Much improved over the previous version. I like the ease of connectivity when downloading files.
The only issue is with the mounting on the handle bars, the shape on my 2022 Giant Defy does not work with the mount provided. Better options would be useful.
Otherwise, it's great.”
“Hi,
I do like the more compact camera and lights. I do like its rear screen. So far it’s been OK.
My previous version was imo better, longer lasting. I am not using lights unless absolutely necessary, and then it only lasts 3 hrs tops while recording. I did put a larger micro SD card in, I dont know if that is an issue. I like having more storage. The video has good quality IMO. I wish the Strava Overlay was available, you have to pull the card and go onto the site and then upload it and then have strava overlay. PITA.
Those are my gripes, I do like the peace of mind having a video if anything god forbid happens while out riding. I am glad I make it home safely.”
“I like it. The only problem I found was that, making a video using Cycliq plus and Strava data the video was correct but the Strava data, including map was nowhere near the video location.
Thankfully, your IT guy, Michael Visser met me on the FB user group page and made an amendment to Cycliq Plus for me to try a nd it worked.
There is still a little of the same problem with my Fly12CE and Strava... not as big but significant. Hope this can also be addressed. Thx”
“OK the Positives:
Battery life seems to be pretty good and inline with the quoted values.
The device is light and fits the 8th turn well and is secure when installed although the lanyard gives a degree of extra security.
The negatives:
The lanyard could have been elasticated to help with securing the unit on the bike.
Why not use a "Garmin" style full quarter turn like everyone else?
The big negative for me though is Incident Recording (when you manually press the button) only saves the current video and I'm told the previous video loop. This might be fine in most situations but I found my incident (or should I say my button press) was right at the end of a loop and what happened immediately afterwards wasn't captured, it was this that was probably more important than the actual incident when dealing with the police. I suggested that having a configurable option to save current or current -1 and current +1 video files would be beneficial but support brushed this off stating that it would use too much memory on the card!!! Sorry, but I bought a device to capture incidents and therefore memory wise I've chosen to save it.”
“The camera itself is pretty good, though a bit blurry when in motion, the light and optional settings are excellent, though I would very much prefer to be able to wirelessly review/edit/delete clips without removing the sd card. I did find that my handlebar width was far too small without the extender and far too big with it, I had to use a 3rd party rubber extender which was pretty shocking for a product in this price range. Battery life is good, wireless charging would be a plus. The microphone is practically useless in my experience so far.”
“Having had the FLY12 CE, then upgraded to the FLY12 Sport, it has many more features on Video recording, linking to Strava. The only negative issue I have is when using the FLY12 Sport on the Mobile App, I have to switch the unit on, and press scan for it to appear, whereas the FLY6 3RD GEN I have, appears straight away. If CYCLIQ could write the software for either the Mobile App or the FLY12 Sport to resolve the comms issue, then they will have a fantastic product.”
