Is this really necessary? Why should the customer pay for lost items?

I think it is worth protecting my goods during transit although I believe the contract to deliver in good condition is between the seller and the delivery company.

Hello Steve, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I'm truly sorry to hear that your were not happy with the Protect my Order service. This can be removed at the checkout but it can be missed. I have issued a refund for that charge, the funds should be back with you within 2-4 working days. Kind regards, Hollands Country Clothing

Hi Matthew, Thank you for your feedback. I can confirm the Protect My Order charge is optional, it can be removed from the order before proceeding to the checkout but it can be missed.
