About Jaques of London:

About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. Why not come along for the trip with us!

Thought this was a good old classic that I remember my children loving and apparently it was the favourite birthday gift for my niece! Very impressed with the way the box came beautifully wrapped, definitely recommend as a great find!

The toy is well made and quite robust. The lid is not secured so falls off all the time, spilling the bricks out. Also it is not easy to post the bricks through the shape holes in the side. To do it you have to turn the truck on its side and the lid falls off. It is a puzzle in itself to get all the bricks to fit in the truck when tidying away. I'm not sure the toy was designed with a child or a parent in mind.
