About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. Absolute piece of rubbish, no matter what I do the string always undo making it useless and dangerous for kids. It’s completely unusable. Do not buy

The strings on this guitar are so loose that you are not able to pluck them and they break when tightened. Useless.

I'd have given it 5 stars for quality except, even after tightening the screws at the back of the tuning pegs, I found it really difficult to tune. Luckily my grand daughter loves to bang on it with her hands so it's not really important! :)

Very disappointing product - we brought 2 as we have twins and whilst they looked great but within an hour of being played with 2 strings had snapped and a third unwound on one and 1 string had snapped and 2 unwound on the other. The remaining strings on both became loose each time the children used the plectrum. Would not recommend at all.

I know this is only a play guitar but on giving this to my 2-year old grandson on Christmas Day, the plastic pegs were loose and it was virtually impossible to tighten the peg on the lowest note string - and the highest note string broke almost instantly. It was very disappointing for me as this was his main gift from me and of course he lost interest in it very quickly. Certainly not worth the money and if it weren’t for the fact that I ordered it some 2 months ago and so is past its refund date, I would definitely be asking for my money back. A very poor ‘toy’.

The guitar looks nicely made and was nicely packaged and presented too. However, there were no instructions provided about how to tighten and tune the strings. So our grandchild quickly lost interest in the guitar as it was impossible to get a sound out of it. I completely understand why it was shipped with loose strings but a few simple instructions to get the guitar ‘up and running’ would have made all the difference.
