“I ordered this one because it was available on the shipping date I wanted, didn’t know what to expect. She’s smaller than the rest of the chicks from my order, but she is a pleasure! Her feathering is so beautiful, from solid black as a chick to mostly black, with some very pretty orange plumage throughout now at 8 weeks. She’s the most docile of my flock of 16, and she’s very easy to handle.”
“Got 4 ameribella chicks 2 months ago. They are very curious and hearty. Unfortunately, they are not sexlinked as advertised. I ended up with a surprise cockrel, and lots of surprise crowing.
I am disappointed since the description states I was sure to receive only females.”
Thank you for your review of our Ameribella chicks. Ameribellas are a sex-linked breed, meaning males and females hatch with different down colors, making sexing much more accurate than with standard breeds. While this process greatly minimizes the chance of error, no method is entirely infallible. In rare instances, natural variation or a visual anomaly can lead to a chick being misidentified at hatch, despite our best efforts. While these cases are uncommon, they are possible, and we always stand behind our guarantee when they do happen. If you have any additional concerns about your birds, please reach out to us and we'll be glad to help you.
