“I‚Äôm SO pleased with my single Blue Favaucana that came in my blue/green layer mix!! She‚Äôs incredibly sweet, has beautiful feathers & lays the most lovely light sage eggs. I will definitely be ordering more of these beauties in the coming years. Highly recommend!”
“I am not sure how to add to my original review but Evee has changed a lot. She doesn't have those dark black eyes anymore, now they are amber/orange/reddish. She is also not blue but black. She has 5 toes. She is the scariest, most gothic looking chicken I have ever seen. I LOVE her. She is so sweet. She is obviously the top of the pecking order but she is nice to everyone in the flock. She is the only one who comes to me when I call. She makes an adorable cooing sound when I talk to her and give her treats. I'm not sure why she isn't blue as advertised. Maybe she will molt and turn blue, but to be honest, I love her the way she is now and hope she stays this way. She is my little witchy chick.”
“I have to put Felicia in broody jail several times a year. She is beautiful, but since I'm not hatching eggs her talents are going to waste. I fear she will succumb to the heat in the AZ desert so I have to keep her away from the nest boxes on a fairly regular basis. For me, this breed isn't working, although she is without question one of my most beautiful girls.”
“This chick has the nicest eyes...I don't know if it's because of the brown color on it's head that makes the black eyes stand out or what...but it is really pretty. Ok, so aside from it's looks (OMG it has 5 toes...HOW CUTE), it is really friendly already. It jumps into my son's lap. I really hope it stays this interactive and friendly when it grows up. So happy with her!”
“I wrote a glowing review a few weeks back about how Sage was the first of her group to lay an egg. Since then, it has been a constant battle to break the broody. She has been broody and broken of it twice. The third time around I gathered all my eggs from the day and let her sit. Hoping after she hatches some chicks she‚Äôll get back to being a productive member of my flock.”
“Bought a batch of 5 baby chicks in July of 2017. One of which was a favaucana. As she has grown up, she is hands down the funniest and sweetest bird I've ever had. She struts around without a care in the world and does the weirdest things. She'll fly on my lap and start digging on me, attack bunnies that try to eat her food, and whenever she sits down, instead of sitting normally, she needs to lay on her side and completely spread out. She's a quirky girl, but still loves to cuddle when she's feeling like it. 10/10 would recommend this breed to anyone who wants colorful eggs and a fluffy companion.”
“I ordered a favacauna in summer 2019 with a few other breeds. She's gorgeous, and gets along well with the rest of the flock, though is towards the bottom of the pecking order. She started laying in early 2020 and has already gone broody twice, which is unfortunately not what I am looking for with my small backyard flock. She's also quite flighty and timid around humans despite lots of handling as a chick. In the future I'd just get a blue Easter egger as she looks almost exactly like the blue EE I ordered who has a better personality and hasnt tried to go broody yet.”
