“I purchased one of these ladies seven years ago and I have never regretted it. She is my loudest, most beautiful, and most unique chicken of my whole flock. She is pretty calm too. She has five toes on one foot, four on the other, a beautiful beard, and gets along well with most other birds. If you are looking for something unique and quirky that lays greenish/blue eggs, these are perfect.”
“I purchased four Blue Favaucana hens two years ago (May 2021). I re-homed the accidental rooster along with a hen that was "bullying" my other hens. The two that have remained are beautiful. I like their feather patterns and feathered shanks. What I do not like, is their tendency to be broody. They are not mean broody hens but they are tedious to break. Other than that they are mild mannered and don't mind being around me. If you don't mind broody, then I see no reason not to invest in this breed. I'm giving a 5 star rating because MPC has awesome customer services, they reimbursed me for my accidental rooster and for the variety of breeds they have.”
“Fiona is our Blue Favacauna. She's very soft, and she lays a light green egg 4-5 days a week. She's sweet, but a little flighty. We got a Blue Easter Egger at the same time, and they look almost identical. They're always together. They even went broody together, but they only did it once in 2 years. She has the softest feathers with 5 toes on both feathered feet.”
“I ordered 8 chicks, this being one of them. This little chicky is so fun! She‚Äôs curious, bold, always wants to be part of what you‚Äôre doing, and the most friendly right there with the blue splash maran chick. She has 5 toes, but only on one of her feet(which is why the 4 stars) I don‚Äôt personally think it affects anything but she obviously has some genetic abnormality.
I can‚Äôt wait to see how her personality grows with her.”
“I ordered 2 with 7 others 4 1/2 years ago. The Favaucanas are nice hens, lay green eggs, but are constantly going broody. They are beautiful but I would not recommend them because they are so prone to being broody.”
