We've had our favaucana for a few years now. She is sweet and gentle, with an unusual and attractive body shape. My kids love her and she lays lovely little greenish-blue eggs.

My lady is pretty and silly, but broody. She's only 9 months old and has gone broody twice. And it takes days of her being in broody jail to get over it. I even tried putting a large mason jar in the nesting box to keep her out. She simply sat on the jar as though it might hatch.

Mine did not end up looking like the pictures but she is a very fun chicken. Likes to keep her eye on me. Doesn't like to be carried unless I'm carrying her around so she can survey her land.

I absolutely love this chick. She's about 2 months now and she comes to me when called. Follows me around. Very easy girl. She is more like a dog than a chicken. I need more of her in my flock.

Beautiful they are for sure, but if you want a bird you can touch without getting bit or a chicken who lays eggs, this is probably not the breed for you. We ordered 3 for delivery in March 2020 and all three are now full grown. One hen is different than the other two and looks nothing like the photos (more like a gray white sultan), is smaller, and she lays cream eggs. The other two look like the photos, are quite large birds that lay pretty blue-green eggs. They are the least approachable birds in my 35-strong flock and both are Broody about once a month! (So they rarely lay eggs and are difficult to handle when they’re in this state). They do not handle the heat well and about 5-6 times this summer have had to bring them inside because I was concerned about them in the heat. We let one hen incubate and raise chicks but that was a mistake because we couldn’t touch any of the babies, she was so mean, and her chicks grew to be afraid of people too. Hopefully we got a bad batch of Fauvacannas but be ready to receive ones like ours. We would not purchase this breed again. Other than this breed, we have had a wonderful experience with our chicks from My Pet Chicken!!!

Sophia is beautiful, but man she's broody! This is my 3rd time this summer putting her in chicken jail. She even tried to bring Rose (BRLW) with her. I'm going to try next summer to get her some eggs to hatch.

My Pet Chicken impressed me immediately with their secure packaging. I ordered 5 chicks total: these 2, plus 2 Cuckoo Bluebar Blue Eggers, and Mottled Cochin Bantam. It was mid November, and the small box was packed with shredded paper, with a small space furnished for the chicks to remain cuddled together inside. A heat pack was also tucked into the bottom, keeping the day old girls toasty warm. They arrived chirping excitedly, eager to jump out of the box and roam around their new coop. Paprika.and Tip Toe are now about 9 months old, and it's been a blast having them in my flock. I wanted to wait until they matured, and to get to know their personalities before reviewing. Tip.Toe got her name from her somewhat deformed feet. This breed should have 5 toes on each foot and she has 4 on one foot, on the other, there are 5, but they are fused together. Paprika's name came from that gorgeous red V on her head thise first few weeks! They began laying around 22 weeks or so, Tip Toe first. Her egg was exactly as described here, a true Sage Green, with light brown speckles. No yellow tones, as an olive Eggers would be. Paprika's first egg cam.just days later, hers having more of a grayish green tone. None the less, still very different from any Easter or Olive Egger I've had. Both of their personalities are just precious. So sweet, docile and affectionate. They love being picked up and cuddled, even by my 3 year old! Paprika went broody about 3 weeks ago. While she is still a sweetheart, she went into the nesting box one day and never got out, and plucked her belly bare. So I got her a dozen fertilized eggs, and two days later, my Mottled Cochin Bantam, Boop, decided to join her. So now, my two most calm and docile ladies are co-setting on what is now 9 eggs. They still refuse to leave the nest so I have to take them out and give them water by medicine dropper and keep food in the nest. However they remain sweet as pie and don't peck at me or make any noises at all when I reach in the nest. My only concern is that with how laid back they are, they may not protect their chicks if any other hens are bothered by them. I am.prepared to raise them separately, but I really want to interfere as little as possible and hope to allow nature to take its course as much as possible. All in all, these Blue Favaucana's are a wonderful breed. Absolutely beautiful, lovely lacing with soft, thick fluff at the base of their beautifully laced, thick, slate gray feathers. Their heads are a deep gray, with specks of gold pieced through their necks. The lighter gray feathers on their body are Laced, the thick white fluff that makes them so cold hardy peeks through. The lightly feathered dark feet, golden yellow eyes, the puffy cheeks, I absolutely plan on getting more of these sweethearts. What an amazing designer breed by My Pet Chicken!

Love my blue favaucana but she is not blue at all. She is stunning regardless! She is solid black with oil slick coloring in the light. She is my quirkiest chicken. She is friendly but when she goes broody it lasts for MONTHS. Nothing I have tried would break her of it. I finally tried putting day olds under her. She had zero interest in the babies. Haha! But the peeping seems to have cured her of her broodiness. She’s seems to be a bit of a loner in my flock of 22 chickens. Also she has 5 toes!
