“I’m so devastated even writing this post. We ordered 3 splash marans a week apart from each other. We lost the first one within 2 days, which MPC graciously refunded us for and then we lost the next two— one within a week and the other by week 3. Not sure what was going on with these precious little babes but they did not do well. The most recent one who died was the smallest of the group of 4 we got and she was never as lively as the rest of her flock of marans (black copper). We were just so excited for this breed and I’m so sad. We will hopefully try again next spring with better luck. I don’t blame MPC, I think more just bad luck on these little ones.
Others in our flock are doing well, we have 3 black copper marans, 3 Plymouth rocks, 1 buff, 2 blue bountifuls, 1 blue Americana, and 1 green queen.”

“2 of the 3 Blue Splash Marans chicks died. One probably pasty butt, another one was very little and squished in the corner of the shipping box (the box has this dangerous extra corners inside which we felt should not be there) , she never recovered from that and passed away in a few days.”
“We ordered two, Peach and Blossom. Blossom passed away early on, but outside of the return window (day 3). That said, Peach is the sweetest, friendliest girl out of all 5 (three ameraucana, one green queen ee) who all have wonderful personalities. She is also SO quiet, she laid an egg right in front of me ( she lays a light/medium pinky brown with very tiny darker brown spots) and you would have never known, save for the egg that appeared right under her adorable fluffy bottom. I would have loved to have had two just like her, but even just the one is such a joy.”
