Which kit components were the most impactful and why? This was mixed as dependant on the children at the time as to which parts of the kit components were more valued.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? That we can learn in all ways especially using toys to use to unlock prior knowledge and imagination. Importance of Farmers role in providing food sources to survive.

How did the context of farming allow your learners to explore and develop literacy? Discussion about their prior knowledge about farming. We have a lot of students who live on farms so they brought a lot of knowledge to the topic. Aided visual and memory use when writing stories or recounts.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The vehicles were used more often by the children and the co-operation when putting everything together was priceless because we used the big kids to help

“The kids are still using them as a reading rotation and it is generating alot of conversation which is needed for one of my boys who has global delay. Thank you for these really 'hands on' resources for the children.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "I liked getting to open the lego packets" "It was cool getting the little presents in the packs" "I liked playing the game and writing" "I liked guessing and matching the colours" "We could play with so much lego toys and it was fun" "I liked it because you got to play with the farm cars" "It was cool lego and we played farms"

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The Maori words to learn alongside the vegetables/animals etc. Rich oral language and engaging. We played the game in buddies that allowed cooperation and team work to complete the challenges. Then once all lego was open, they enjoyed creating their own farm and playing with it as much as possible, including before school :)

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Team work, sharing, respecting others, oral language, connections, farming ideas, animals and te reo words for animals are used frequently.

How did the context of farming allow your learners to explore and develop literacy? Oral Language was enhanced, learning more te reo vocabulary. Talking, listening, collaborative work, speaking and sharing ideas. The game was fun and engaging with the different components, too.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The board of the farm was very useful. We used for position orientation in maths, and used as a bas to create our own maps/boards as the children inspired.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Their ability to complete hard things (building the large components) and demonstrating a growth mindset.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them I like the different fruits and vegetables that were included in the kit. I liked being able to build the farm house and make the different machines.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The animals and the vegetables - having to create different crops, discussing why, having to create shelters for animals and being able to talk about what they would need.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? They have see how toys like legos can be used to create meaningful spaces and can be utilised to create different environments without using pen and paper

So much amazing learning once again - thank you so much SchoolKit your Bricks Farm 23 was a real highlight of the term and will continue to be for a long time yet! It was an all round amazing kit with so many great elements incorporated such as the te reo Maori and creative design parts with the invent it section too.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them 'O' was able to make new friends as he played with the Lego, directing others around him, negotiating with others, and having an opportunity to share with others, via his words and actions, who he was and what sort of freind he would make

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The base board allowed for a defined 'work area' and lessoned the spread of the lego all over the show.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Certainly for 'O', it allowed him a secure, safe environment to start the school year in a new class. The collaborative 'play' aspect of the kit allowed 'O' to get to know his fellow classmates better in a low stress way.

“We had a new child starting school and as his parents spoke to us about his learning challenges, before the start of the new year, they happened to mention his love of Lego ("He thinks he is the king of Lego" they said). I immediately thought about this kit and signed up. I intended our new student to start the school year making lego and making new friends while doing so. I was so relieved when the box arrived, a few days before the start of the school year. Plan into action! 'O' loved the box of lego! His first two days were spent creating farm scenes and other things, but most importantly, he was making new friends and aquaintences. This was the breakthrough start to 'O's new school, in a new country, that we were looking for.”
