Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them From the students writing books: I love the. animals and we love playing with them. I loved how we built the trucks, the houses and the 4 wheel motorbike. Putting on the stickers were fun. The baby pigs are so cute. I like the design of the farm and the puzzle. I like drawing solutions for problems.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? After making the main components to the kit. The sorting of the small discs were fun as the students were able to anticipate what might be in the small bags. There was great excitement when a guess was correct. The jigsaw farm was great to keep the pieces all in one spot and could be moved. The task cards were a hit. Students loved sharing their ideas.
What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Something they will remember about being in room 11 for ever. Some students had the kit at home but others didn't so it was really good way to bring equality into the classroom. A fun collect project that everyone had ownership on and cared about with pride. It will remain in its special place in the classroom this year. Hopefully they will retain some te reo Māori words and locatives.

How did the context of farming allow your learners to explore and develop literacy? Increasing vocabulary around farm equipment, finding books in the library on farms and reading them, talking through play, having to explain how their drawing achieved the task to design, te reo Māori. Writing a guess what was in the box story. Describing and writing what farm piece they got and where it will be found on the farm. Reading, problem solving, conflict resolution and following written and verbal instructions to make the kit and place a kit piece somewhere in relation to another object. .

This kit was an amazing way to start the year with the 24 year 2 students. The excitement and common sense of achievement gained when the farm began to come together was motivational. Students care about the farm when others visit the classroom and make sure it is treated with the respect they have for it. Gaining the extra pieces for the farm along the way continued the shared interest throughout term 1 and term 2. Over the 2 terms it has been dismantled, changed then remade the best it can. Currently, the farm is carefully boxed up after the end of term clean up ready for students to bring it out again. Farming will continue to be a background topic this year as the students seek out books and information to keep the farm alive

My Year 2 class loved the bricks farm. It was something that they all could participate in when we were building the farm. We ended up having building experts who helped build the more tricky components. The farm was left up on a table in the classroom and the children constantly would revisit the table during the day. We had books about farm life and animals on the table to help with the children's curiosity! The bricks farm unit fitted in with our terms topic I am an Environmentalist which included us planting some vegetables like the farm!

My class loved this kit. I was able to do some of the activities in small groups, and we used the Te Reo in a general classroom setting. The kit was then used for independent activities, and we also made some stop motion movies with it.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them Building the bricks models- cheering when I introduced the task. Alas, the instructions ere too complex for at least 1/2 of the learners to complete independently or in groups. Getting into big circle to learnt he game- 100% engaged with the idea.
Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The videos- they were aimed just at the right level, had enough variety to stimulate interest and launch our inquiry. Unfortunately, the game was too complex for 18 year 2/3 to play. Even with significant modification to remove some of the tasks, it didn'

The children LOVED the bricks and being able to have a go at following the build instructions. We loved the IDEA of the game based learning, but found that in reality it was too convoluted and complex to be used as it is in class. THe videos links were very i=useful as they linked ieth our "where does frood come from?" inquiry.

Apologies for the delay in reviewing! The big box elicited huge anticipation from our tamariki, and oh the excitement when we opened it! It was tricky for many of my Year 2 class to put together, and with the help of tuakana who were capable readers, and some problem-solving in small groups, the Bricks Farm 23 was put together (and some of my own stash added :) ). Lots of activities and a bit of overwhelm as to where to start...but with it all set up the key competencies were already being developed, conversation was flowing and tamariki in their element i.e. PLAY! Students were familiar with some of the animals/vegetables/machinery, so learning them in te reo Māori was another level. Lots of sorting, discussion about new vocabulary and their meaning, story telling, writing, and maths - using the key word tiles, the 'thing, that, for' cards, and the array of video clips and books provided. We were able to transfer our learning and learning process to our EOTC topic (the Zoo), and it worked brilliantly to be able to ask questions, discuss, compare and contrast. Thank you School Kit for another fun, idea-packed and engaging box of experiences and learning opportunities.

We loved this kit and the children still use it a lot in my classroom. We used the resources in the box and it worked out that they could build something big with their buddy. This was a big hit. The bingo game was awesome and we created other games like ‘I spy’ and ‘charades’. So much fun!
