“I have several neuro diverse learners and this was a great way to have buddy time with more socially able children. They focus on the task of building and were able to have lovely side by side conversations. The blocks provided the context for some lovely social chat around asking, waiting, negotiating etc”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? THe brick sets because they engaged the children in hands on learning and motivated them to learn about the topic of change in farming.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Students have learned to take care of the kit and its components. As a result they are taking more responsibility for other things in the classroom.

“Students needed a lot of support to build the components of the farm but once they were built they were careful not to take them apart. Students learned to take care of all the small parts. The kit fitted in perfectly with our inquiry for the term exploring change through the topic of farming.”

“Kids loved it. Some kids enjoyed following the plans while others liked the simpler tasks of setting up the farm. Once everything was made we used it for imaginative play. We then discussed clean environments which we then linked into or Looking after the sea (River in our case) unit from School Kit.”
