Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The whole kit was great because the tamaiti could chose to follow the instructions or free style their own creations.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Having lego at school!!!!

“I have a New Entrant class with all the tamariki starting this term. My class has enjoyed opening the boxes and packets and challenging themselves to follow the plan or just be creative with the blocks. While building/playing there have been some great discussions, problem-solving and tamaiti have helped each other when things have got a little tricky. Lego in whatever form is a wonderful resource for all ages. I highly rate this kit and am glad I signed my class up.”

“Our junior class of 12 Year 0 3 learners had so much fun with this set. It linked beautifully with our environmental focus and with our rural environment as students created their own farm with lots of talk about what makes the farms successful, what sustainable practices they would/could use. Chn added to the kits by building their own fences and 'backgrounds' - lots of language development and essential skills came into play.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? We loved the whole kit. The biggest impact was the connection the learners made with each other through using the kit.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Experience for some struggling learners to have the opportunity to work alongside others with adult support to develop connections.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The vocabulary and the cool Lego parts. The game gave students a chance to learn and use new vocabulary. The students enjoyed building and using the Lego around a specific topic.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? We will continue to use it and students will use the vocabulary.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The kit components - the Lego. It's an expensive toy to have in the class, so the children were very excited (and still are), to have it and to continue to play with it!

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? The cooperation and creativity they have learned and developed while they play and make with it.

How did the context of farming allow your learners to explore and develop literacy? We are a rural school so we focussed more on extending our vocabulary and including more detail into our writing. Structured Literacy, we learned rhyming words with pig, goat, etc. We learned Maori for the names of animals and farm equipment.

“My class absolutely loved and continue to love the Bricks Farm. It was an engaging, creative kit that was a huge hit with everyone. Stop motion animations, cooperative problem-solving, Maori language...you name it we did it! It is one of the most played with resources we have in the classroom.”
