Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them # It was so fun playing the building game. I made a cool farm with food. # I liked learning the Maori names for the food we eat. (They now talk about the names of all of the food in their lunch box)

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The Te Reo word tiles, proved to be so fun as they wondered what the name for all different foods were. The lego bricks were incredible and have been used in so many ways. They are used everyday and used to spark discussion about so many things.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Understanding where our food comes from and what it does for our body. That food have a name in Te Reo and that so many 'jobs' and processes are needed to get the food we eat to us.

“The children loved setting up their bricks farm. There was rich language in both Te Reo and English around the play. It was particularly interesting and engaging for my neuro-diverse children. They were drawn into the play surrounding the bricks farm and engaging with other students in ways that they hadn't before. The farming context was perfect for our students, many of whom have links to farming.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The most effective part was the equipment itself - it provided a visual of a possible set up for a farm that we could discuss.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? The teamwork used to assemble all the pieces - this has created ownership.

“This was a fabulous kit and my class loved learning more about the different elements that make farming happen. We looked a lot at the different jobs that are required. We teamed up to put the different machines together and I was impressed with how the children worked together and showed perseverance and patience with each other to get everything made. The children have valued this equipment so much and it is great to see that it is well looked after.”

Lots of children knew about the previous supermarket bricks with the fruit and veges, but some didn't know whether they grew on trees, bushes or on top or under the ground. We also had a group of children who didn't know the names

“I had a Y1/2 class last year and I kept a few children when I moved into a Y2/3 class. They loved being rewarded and opening up the packets. To develop listening skills I would describe or give hints as to what the contents felt like. We loved the learning and we learnt some new sharing skills. Thank you School Kit and Countdown.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "I loved helping to make the farm" They were so engaged in this process. "The little animals are so cute" They enjoyed moving the animals around the farm and discussing where to put each animal, truck, building and fruit/vegetable.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The bricks themselves and then the Te Reo Maori cards.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? They play with it everyday! It is great hearing them use the correct words for the animals and the vegetables.

“I put the class into small teams to make all the trucks and the farm. They also got to make all the little packets as well. They really enjoyed making it. It helped build their team-building skills, as they had to share and work together. Having all the te reo Maori cards allowed them to talk about all the animals and the vegetables. It is such a wonderful resource!”

The thing, that, for cards were also great for the Invent It tasks. It was great how the tasks covered such an array of different areas, from spelling, drawing, m

“What a fantastic kit - the children loved working together to fit all the components together! Such a joy to see their faces light up when they got to open one of the small surprise packs!
