Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The actual lego. Although it was too hard form my little ones to put together they did love watching it come together.

“This kit has the best resources and we felt very fortunate to be given such high-quality and highly engaging resources. My Year 1/2 kids did need lots of support from our Year 5-8 kids though as it was quite challenging to follow the instructions and do the building. Thanks for allowing us to be involved in this project, the kids did love working with the Senior kids.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The farm vehicles were the most popular, I think they provided lots of oral language and explaining to others what they are used for.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? The importance of farming, we need farmers to have food.

“Our Year 1/2 class loved the countdown bricks. We focused on teamwork and cooperation to build our farm and implements. Many children shared great knowledge with others regards the names and uses of the farm equipment. Being a rural school with many children living on farms they loved the imaginary play. This led to many discussions about the importance of farming and where our food comes from. My only criticism is the amount of packaging and rubbish created.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them Student 1 "I liked playing with the farm because I liked pretending to be a farmer" Student 2 - This student had problems when it came to working alongside others but seeing them share and talk to other children was great success.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Definitely the actual bricks - this was the part that had children engaged.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? They will think about farming and how we get our kai into our homes.

“I teach in a collaborative modern learning environment with children from new entrants to Year 2 and the Bricks Farm was a hit! Children have loved interacting with the resources and it has been great to see their oral language skills come out when taking part in the activities. Their favourite part was playing with the tractors, milk tankers etc.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The children really enjoyed being rewarded in the game by opening a bag of lego when they had finished their task..

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? They still use the Te Reo words for vegetables and directions.
