Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Having to work together to create a farm, the children are only 6 so this is a super important skills to have

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? The children love lego so I think they will remember this for years to come

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them My higher achieving students enjoyed being the teacher when helping their peers build and complete a creation. The talk that i noticed happening between students was great, having not normally seen or noticed this in a particular child.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? I think the bricks themselves, the simplicity of the small packs allowed all my students to feel successful in creating with the bricks.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? The act of helping and supporting a buddy for mine.

“Upon receiving this kit my tamariki were excited for obvious reasons! I made the most of the kit and its resources with my teacher aides who work with children with different learning needs in my class. This was done similar to the Lego Therapy Programme. I enjoyed seeing my buddies navigate the instructions and collaboratively work together to build the different items.”

“This kit proved really popular with students who are transitioning to school. The brick toys helped with the initial separation of the student from their parents. Then this became the basis of our oral language programme. The brick toys were also used for early numeracy activities. It will be continued to be well-used in the future. Thank you for providing this opportunity.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them This was fun because we got to use the bricks to help us learn about farms. My favourite part was making a new invention for the farm.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Links to stories about farm life and using the bricks as motivation to learn about different aspects of the farm. These things made them think a bit wider than just cows, sheep and pigs. That there is more to farming than the animals.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? Possibly looking into what is in the food we eat and the processes used to make food.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them I really, really loved building with the countdown lego. I liked learning the maori names for the animals and plants.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? I think the stem cards and the te reo name cards were the most impactful. The name cards because it was an easy and engaging way to incorporate te reo.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? learning both the english and maori words for the pieces. Learning to work well in groups- cooperative learning.

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them "This is so cool, look at my tractor! I am a farmer" "Look at all the fruit that I have grown. I am going to cook some kai with it."

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The boys really liked the vehicles and driving them. They have a constructive/transport urge in play at the moment so this supported that. It also encouraged turn taking as the numbers were limited.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? How we need to look after our environment and that we can use kai in our food to nourish us, links to the stories we read and we continue to use the bricks so making those connections.

“This was an amazing hands-on kit that the kids loved using while learning about farms and what happens on farms all around NZ. They especially loved that they could build the resources from the building bricks that came with it. Kids have a better understanding of farms and what happens on them.”
