Which kit components were the most impactful and why? The charging station - breathing components - have used this technique for many years through other initiatives. The notebooks were a big hit with the children making them think about themselves in a deeper way.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? They will purposefully look to recharge themselves as well as recharge others when they are low.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Some children are more open to sharing in groups and asking to play in the playground. Some children have shared in front of the class that hadn't in the past.

What impact has this kit had on your classroom community? We grew to appreciate, respect and actually care for each other. This has not gone unnoticed by relievers, other students and whānau.

“Most students found their confidence increase during the process and could articulate at least two reasons why. Ākonga also loved learning where each other were at because they connected better to one another. Knowing more about our cohort assisted us in being more curious about each other as well. The parent letters did not happen for most of the class so as their teacher I created a ‘compliment’ box so we could read wonderful things about each other by each other. Lastly, we really ran out of time to fully complete this kit and tried to integrate as much of it as possible to get the most from it. Thanks School Kit :)”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Great resource for walls to remind students on the basics and to take a moment to regulate themselves.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? We taught this in class in 2023, and it is being used in the Counselling Waiting Room for students who need to take a moment.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence Uncertain. I think it helps them take charge of negative thoughts and emotions and replace them with good uplifting thoughts.

“I found that these resources were helpful in getting started with the students, but they did require some tailoring. I found that I was able to utilise this in Health Classes as well as Form Class time. Our Counsellor has also taken some of these resources to help students in the counselling waiting room.”

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Definitely the Traffic light box with pucks.

What is the legacy this kit will leave behind on your learners? I think it has allowed the students to appreciate that sometimes they each have their bad moments and recognising that they can help if they are green is really wholesome and uplifting.

In what ways has this kit helped develop student confidence I think it has allowed students to feel more connected to each other. I guess by developing their support systems, students can feel more self confidence.

“The check in box has proved a really great way for some of my students to anonymously tell me things aren't all good. I have really enjoyed getting to explore their parents' first memory's with the kids, though sadly, not many of the parents filled it out and returned it to school. Overall, it has been a really positive experience for my class.”

Please provide 2+ examples of student voice on the kit's impact on them 2 ESOL students used the Self Daily check in to let me know some important stuff that was going on for them. The Red Zone letter and conversation with me helped them to articulate how they were feeling.

Which kit components were the most impactful and why? Daily check in with the tokens the kids really bought in too. They loved the diary too and sharing this with their families. The letter to them from a parent/trusted adult and feedback of 3 words from me was very special too. They have not been using the shrink and boost cards so this is something I will keep trying to develop. Maybe they are too young for this component?
