Lots of plastic and resources that were not engaging for the senior students. Students wanted to do really wild ideas; however, this was unachievable in a school setting.

How did the activity help students make connections between circuit theory and real-world applications? .
The review kit was a very engaging kit for my senior students. Students loved learning more about world records and went out of their way during library times to learn more about a variety of world records. The integration of measurement into this topic was a great way to engage reluctant maths learners.”

This was an excellent kit to build the language structure of sentences in a fun and engaging context. It opened up so many language experiences and also leadership opportunities for students who may to normally feel confident to lead an activity.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Maths and it tied nicely into the olympics.
The DIY World Records 24 kit has been a fantastic addition to our classroom for Year 4-5 students. It brilliantly combines elements from statistics and physical education, engaging our tamariki in both intellectual and physical challenges. Our students enjoyed creating 32 unique World Records, which not only sparked their creativity but also encouraged teamwork and perseverance. The integration of The Arts, Social Sciences, PE & Health, and Numeracy provided a holistic learning experience that was both educational and fun. Overall, the DIY World Records 24 kit was a hit in our classroom, offering an engaging way to meet curriculum objectives while keeping students active and motivated. Ngā mihi nui for such a well-rounded educational resource!

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Health and PE, English, and Mathematics
This kit would have been great with my previous year group, but this wasn't suitable for the cohort I had as some students needed constant managing when working in small groups and to have a positive mindset. I thought the kit was excellent and had some great resources, it was bright and colourful and I will try and use some of them for another year group, possibly the group I'm getting next year.

I used this kit to tie in with the Olympics, it added an extra dimension for the kids beyond the medals as they were quite unfamiliar with the records.
