How did the kit components encourage mathematical thinking for your students? We had to figure out ways to measure the different records the students came up with, which meant exploring different units of measurement, especially if we didn't factor time into our records.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Other than maths and literacy, the big one for us was social sciences - while exploring the current records through GNR, we had a lot of conversations about countries and different cultures around the world.
This kit is a fantastic, fun and super engaging kit to do with children of all ages. My Year 6-8 class loved this kit, although we primarily used it with our Year 6 cohort. We had a lot of fun exploring some of the current Guinness World Records, especially the really odd ones before we had a go at creating our own. What followed was four weeks of record-breaking competition, of all types! A great way to incorporate many areas of the currilcum.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This has been an opportunity to 'front-load' my English language learners. They have been able to go back to class and share their success with others. It has also made them experts to share this experience with others in their class.

What was the most unique record achieved and why? Keeping a feather in the air, with their breath. Not sure if it was that unique, but it was fun for my groups and lots of language around floating, blowing, fluttering etc.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? Maths, Literacy, English language learning.
Great resource - I have used this with a math and language focus for my English Language Learners. The cards are helpful as prompts for them to put together sentences and think of the parts they will need to include. In addition we were able to use math language alongside the records that the students were measuring - made it a fun activity to boost their language and learning.

This kit is fantastic to incorporate maths into topic learning without the kids even realising! My students very quickly took on the roles of judges, timers, measurers, etc. and did it with precision to ensure accurate records. I was very impressed by the quality of the resources, and the digital versions were great too as I was able to share the kit with a team member who did it with her own class. Will definitely be using this kit again!
