How did the resource inform students’ understanding of food waste as a global vs local issue? It helped them understand that things need to improve here as well as around the world and that people around the world have different challenges and ways of living , they also learnt that change needs to start with how we do things first before tackling the global issues.

It was great fun making pickles with the children. A nice assortment of materials and ingredients in the box to design recipes (e.g. which reduce waste) and evaluate what they've done (ie. most favourite, least favourite). We enjoyed this kit but preferred the absolutely fabulous 'make a healthy muffin' kit available a couple of years ago even more (it provided a basic recipe for a muffin, supplied ingredients and a gift card to buy alternative healthy ingredients). We got children to work in groups to adapt the recipe as the kit suggested. The kids LOVED it as they love muffins, it taught them about how to make something healthier and gave them the science between what each ingredient did in a fun way! Bring this kit back, please!
