How did the components of this kit allow your students to explore the topic of energy transformation? The big poster of the kitchen was exciting to look at. It was something they could all relate to. And there was great excitement at spotting things in the poster that they have at home in their kitchens.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? There were lots of questions being asked. And answers offered by classmates, which was great to hear. Sadly, we only managed to get to the power kit at the end of the term so we could extend the learning as much as I would have wanted to.
What opportunities arose for cross curricular learning while teaching this kit? The song was fun and great for including te reo naturally in our learning

“My children enjoyed engaging with this kit along side the brainbox kits we have at school. The poster included prompted great discussion about house hold things that require power and how they work. The tasks cards were clear for the teacher to follow.”

“The Power Kit was a great starting point for learning about energy and the basics of how electricity works via basic circuitry. I did find the kit lacking in direction. There was a bare minimum of information about energy and electricity in the kit and online. I did most of my research away from the website and found other activities separate from it. The children did love story and pictures, and the popcorn.”

“Students really loved the poster and story to start the unit. Disappointed that the 2 playdoughs were no different as although we ordered the special water ( PbTech $38 - never received) so justed used filtered water. Maybe could be supplied in the kit or a group order could be made. (happy to pay) They also loved the videos and the problem solving that went about with their creations.”
