What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? It will provide my learners with chances to reflect back on the work and explore further. One of my students is particularly keen on exploring inclusion and racism through media/ film which has stemmed from this kit which is awesome!

How did using art as the context allow your learners to explore the themes of racism and inclusivity? As a special needs class, we used it to reflect on our own experiences of inclusion. It was also awesome to help the students think about how they could be more inclusive and responsive to racism.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? This kit has fully smashed a window on racism and historical events. We are still working on it and that's why feedback has taken so long. Such a rich kit/ the topic and the teacher guide were incredible so thanks so much.

How did this kit help your students understanding of art with a purpose? It was challenging for the younger group of Y4-5s but the older group Y5-6 really resonated with going deeper with understanding what artists are trying to say in their work and that it's not just superficial or pretty.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? 1/2 of my students loved the poem- it has made them be aware of what others are going through and be more empathetic to those in class.

How did this kit help your students understanding of art with a purpose? This kit helped some of my students understand the art can be moving and mean more than what it looks. Other students enjoyed 'doing' the activities but seemed to not fully grasp the big idea of racism and inclusivity.

I especially like how it was set up so I could choose the activities that I thought would work best for my learners but they still followed the same progression and my class still got the same learning benefit from it. The kit linked really well to our school values (one of our values is kotahitanga), and we were able to really break down the word and discuss what it meant.”
