“Our kids are aged 9 - 11 and really enjoyed this unit. They loved that although they all had the same symbols they also created a very individual piece of art that was unique to them. The found poem was fun to do as it combined literacy with art. We are looking forward to sharing our exhibition with whanau and the community!”
“The kit was great and worked well with our Inquiry. It gave the students an opportunity to view issues in New Zealand from others perspective. We enjoyed doing the artwork, using the Sybille symbol for Unity.”
“Hi School kit, you have asked for feedback on the Jean Batten kit, but I did not get this kit (nor order it).
Feedback for the Kotahitanga kit: I struggled with this kit because it didn't seem to be complete. It was difficult to plan for because although it said it would be available in the first week of the holidays it wasn't available until the very end so made it difficult to plan for. I am still waiting for some of the content to become available on the new platform and there have been several comments left with no response from school kit, in particular the instructions for the found poem. With my class we did the poem, and we also worked on the found poems. They were interesting and we enjoyed doing them. We have not been able to do the art work as the wait for the full instructions was long and I ran out of time. I feel this kit had heaps of potential but was a bit lost in the directions and overall vision. I really love the schoool kit, kits but not having response to questions on the new platform has made it difficult. I'd love to know how other schools have managed this kit. Thanks for your ongoing efforts and work.
Thanks.”
“There was lots of information and I found the navigation of the site really complicated. Last year I got a kowhai planting kit and that was much more user user friendly for me and my Year 3 & 4.”
“Such a great kit! As year 3 and 4 it was easy to make it more understandable for the year level but they had so much fun and we all really enjoyed it.”
