Creating astarter activity for each tamariki at the beginning of the year with the fruit idea, and using this to create classroom trees. Also included on these trees will be goals, ways of uplifting and encouraging others.
How did using art as the context allow your learners to explore the themes of racism and inclusivity?
We looked at the ideas of inclusivity and being connected together. We used the stamps to create an artwork that represented a tree with many different types of fruit on it. The fruit was all different, as each tamariki made their own fruit using the stam

How did this kit help your students understanding of art with a purpose?
The helped the tamariki to work together to create a combined art work. Each had their own individual piece in it, and combined, the work looked great. They were able to encourage each other and use ideas together.
