What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Creating astarter activity for each tamariki at the beginning of the year with the fruit idea, and using this to create classroom trees. Also included on these trees will be goals, ways of uplifting and encouraging others.

How did using art as the context allow your learners to explore the themes of racism and inclusivity? We looked at the ideas of inclusivity and being connected together. We used the stamps to create an artwork that represented a tree with many different types of fruit on it. The fruit was all different, as each tamariki made their own fruit using the stam

How did this kit help your students understanding of art with a purpose? The helped the tamariki to work together to create a combined art work. Each had their own individual piece in it, and combined, the work looked great. They were able to encourage each other and use ideas together.

I have enjoyed developing my own NZ artist knowledge, I was just starting on working on own version of the Lucie Blaževská heads when we went into lockdown. Hope to finish off in term 4. I will repeat this idea with all my students (780) of them as a year

I had one student laughing away one day at the method of writing a poem. He told me he needed another ten copies of the letter has

“It was a good kit, but delay in the kit arriving meant it has been a well into term 2 before I could start with the group o students I was working with. I need to start the group with another activity while I had time to read through every thing. So between this, school production and Covid lockdown and now my absence from class for medical reasons, we have only got through the kit part way.”

How did using art as the context allow your learners to explore the themes of racism and inclusivity? It was great. Using art allowed them to express their own thoughts, ideas and values while giving them the opportunity to explore their peers.
