What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? We are constantly talking about inclusiveness and being involved with our mainstream peers. This will continue and art is always a great median for our children.
How did using art as the context allow your learners to explore the themes of racism and inclusivity? I teneded to focus on the inclusiveness aspect as this concept was easiest for my children. I needed to find extra resources (picture books) to engage my children and reach them at their level.

How did this kit help your students understanding of art with a purpose? this unit was very directed by the teacher. A few of my children have a little understanding but the majority it was just a good pathway for sensory play.
I teach a class of special needs students. It was quite difficult to adapt for my children with very high needs. I was expecting more ideas of actual art concepts rather than the theme.

We loved these resources. It supported our conversations with our ākonga after we completed a survey called Rongahia te Hau. This survey revealed the experiences of bullying and racism in our school by our ākonga. These resources provided a wonderful platform to unpack what this means for us and others and how to speak proactively about understanding racism and how we can make a collective stand against it. Thank you.

How did this kit help your students understanding of art with a purpose? It made them aware of the purpose, though I need to do more of this research based art study before doing the art. I have often done artist research but this is in another pathway which we all enjoyed.
It was a good resource for the students to understand and be aware of what is happening out there in the real world
