What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Healthy eating and where our food comes from. We look forward to the seedlings being planted in our school gardens for the children to then enjoy the fruits of their labour! :)
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We have vegetable gardens outside our classroom. The children were excited to make the link between these gardens and the seedlings and then in turn the vege's they eat!
The Little Garden kit was fantastic. It was really well resourced with enough little gardens for each child. As a result of the kit the children's language was enriched as they were very excited about the 'new things in the class' this caused a lot of discussion. The Little Gardens also provided a great spring board for teaching science- the living world. Thank you so much!

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? We have used it in our reading, writing, story telling so far. Will eventually use it in our inquiry when they start growing.
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? It will fit with our maths - measurement - how long it will take to grow and how tall. Inquiry - growing - well being.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? They are willing to try growing vegetables that have not seen before but not sure if they will eat them yet as its not fully grown yet.
The children enjoyed working on. It has been quite and exciting learning concept for some children who have not had a garden. It great to have the resources. It has a variety of vegetables that the children are familiar with.

In what ways did this kit give opportunity for cross-curricular learning? Writing - persuasive writing about growing your own vegetables Science - the life cycle process Health
What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? Future learning will continue next term when the plants have grown further and we can begin to harvest them. We will look into recipes we can use to make healthy food. We will create plant containers to carry our plants home/garden boxes.
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The students enjoyed the planting process and we talked about the benefits of growing our own vegetables. As the plants are not at the harvesting stage yet, we haven't quite delved into the nutrition and healthy eating side of the learning yet.

What future learning opportunities have arisen from this kit? There has been a greater uptake of involvement in our Garden Club
In what ways has this kit improved students awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We've learnt about many vegetables unfamiliar to the students and they have encouraged each other to try new foods (not just vegetables). They are always excited to tell me when they have vegetables in their lunchboxes at school.
Our class have loved the excitement around becoming LGL members and growing and looking after their plants. They've really enjoyed breaking the codes, searching books and school for other LGL members. A few of our teachers jumped on board with being LGL members too, to the delight of the kids. The kids have enjoyed learning the names of and recognising different vegetables and seeing pictures of the original LGL members at the supermarket. Thanks heaps for this fun way to finish the school term.
