How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? I feel that the huge amount of different stories and activities being set for me makes me feel much more relaxed about getting the planning done and so I can just focus on teaching and guiding my tamariki through the work.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? I don't feel that it has done this for me in particular but we have just had PD on local curriculum with iwi involvement. I suppose this will encourage me to delve into local history in more depth.

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? It made me feel more at ease that the information I was providing my students with was coming from a well researched source. I wouldn't feel comfortable giving the resource if it was purely one sided information.

“I found this kit awesome. I liked the variety of the stories and the ability to differentiate levels for different learners. I thought the artifacts that come with it seem somewhat take it or leave it as they have no real impact on the learning journey but they are a welcome addition. I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring this kit!”

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Very motivational. I would like to be able to create a box for us that will include our special whakapapa with Bishop Pompallier.

“What an amazing resource. The students were able to really inquire into the pictures, postcards and histories that came in this little box. The resource was well received and enabled students to think and respond. I particularly liked the help on the group chat where others shared resources or ideas.”

“My year group inquiry for this term was E Tu Ake - Stand Strong and in particular, we were looking at protests throughout NZ History. The Aotearoa NZ Histories 23 pack was practically made for our inquiry! It had powerful resources and stories that were useful for our Y5/6 students. Some resources were more appropriate for an older age group but we still managed to find a lot of relevant information. Highly recommend.”
