“The Aotearoa NZ Histories kit for 2023 is filled with countless images, artefacts, task cards that begin insightful discussions and research about various events during our countries history. Several that stood out to my class were the Patea Maori club poi e album. This was a fantastic way to introduce Parihaka to the class. We also used a sophisticated picture book 'Remember that November'. When then went into depth about Parihaka and the meaning behind he son 'Poi e'. Claim was one of the cards that another group in my class used and focused on the Gold Rush for their history project. The little artefact in the kit was really neat and encouraged so much enthusiasm from the tamariki. The protest cards and 1975 land march and Nga Tamatoa created so much discussions, wonderings and participation from the students. Thank you so much for this amazing resource, it was such a time saver, and included brilliant images, cards and artefacts to motivate instrinsic thinking and learning from my tamariki.”

“I really liked the bag of souvenirs, items, and photos as this helped the kids to make connections to how things have changed over time. This kit started great discussions and prompted good questioning. I liked the reading photos section on the kids website.”

“Something Happened Here has been a challenge for some of my students (they are capable). It is wordy and the tasks are not always straightforward. Having said that my class is enjoying the challenge. It's taking longer than I had anticipated. Some of the links are not quite clear and require a bit of assumption.”
