In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I thought there would have been more issues, children quite aware of what to do in certain situations, still affects some children more than others ( perception, anxiety, over thinkers) while others let it wash over them and don't over analyse and quite p

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Their knowledge or what they think they know! vulnerability, willingness to learn, wanting to change behaviours in others!
This Kit fitted in perfectly with another programme we have running - regarding self esteem, media bias, stereotypes, positive self talk etc... It dovetailed nicely. This is a topic that effects ALL students and was relevant to everyone. Super important to keep giving these messages and do deliberate acts of teaching.

Did your perception of what issues were relevant to your class change? This could be from statements made or the marbles? Yes
In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Yes, my perceptions changed. I thought they were 10 year old and still ";innocent"; about the dangers that can occur online. During the activity I discovered that they know much more than me. They knew about many websites that I was unaware of. I discover

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I felt a bit uncomfortable at first and went to see the principal. I showed her the kit and she had a good look and told me to go ahead as she sees nothing that should make anyone feel uncomfortable. I am a mature person and approached the topics in a mat

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? They spoke about dating online!!! They were not dating, but knew about it because their parents go on there. We also used the marbles to say whether we have been ";out of line"; and 30% admitted they have been.
I have found the kit absolutely valuable. It helped me a great deal as I am on ";older"; teacher and don't really know much about what really goes on when children are online at home. The children shared freely when using the kit. They found it interesting and exciting to use the tools e.g. cards, voting marbles, ring, etc. and did not feel threatened to speak the truth. The kit really guides you and gives you heaps of ideas. I loved it!

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I knew that my students were online a lot of the time but I was not aware of the level of interaction they have with others particularly people that they do not even know. Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I know my students and they know me so it made it easier to deliver some of the trickier content. Sometimes some discussions were a little awkward but we worked through this and made it engaging in a way that they were still learning new strategies.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Their ability to think critically about situations and reflect on how to deal with certain situations.
This was a fantastic kit for engaging and interactive discussions amongst the students in my class. They were really open and honest which I was surprised about but that really showed me that they were taking the content seriously. Lots of important messages were shared and reinforced within the completion of this kit.

Did your perception of what issues were relevant to your class change? This could be from statements made or the marbles? No
In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Things I thought were a given weren't e.g. talking with a stranger and them asking to meet you after school - common sense would be you wouldn't but I had a couple of students who said they would and they were adamant they would. They came up with excuses

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Had some very mature answers - which was nice. Some of these came from students I wouldn't have thought would think like this. The students who had/played apps/games that weren't age appropriate and parents had signed them up!
informative, relevant , interesting and engaging resources

Did your perception of what issues were relevant to your class change? This could be from statements made or the marbles? No
In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Their openness to share experiences, and their maturity ( Y7 and 8 ) around tricky topics and understanding some of their previous behaviours maybe were questionable online, but more from naivety than malice.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? That boundaries ( school v home) are some times a bit blurry and different, their willingness to share their views around their personal activity online.
My class and myself could have spent much more time on this project and we are still finalising how will will present our learning. I think this kit would be an awesome resource for all teachers to implement and teach in their classes. If we are all on the same page around online behaviours for pre teens and teens we would have less bullying and knowledge around what is appropriate and what is not. Thanks again SchoolKit and partners another winner!

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How relevant it was to the students and how many had had problems.
Thank you for the opportunity to use this kit. I have paced it out a bit slower than I usually do with you great kits so I will complete it next week. By taking it slowly it has given me time to reflect on each lesson and plan the next. It meant that we could tie our day to day experiences and problems into our learning. A highlight has been using the term online and offline boundaries as this has transferred into our daily chats about ICT. I was slow to start as I wasn't feeling confident but the information that was put on Facebook was very helpful. It also made me realise others felt the same. Strengths for me with this unit was working with my team as 4 of us were doing it tying it into our ICT time. We loved the scenario cards and the different points of view definitely ignited discussions! As a class, we tied a novel into our learning that was very relevant. ";Just End It"; by Donna Blaber. This book tackles the issues of cyberbullying, bullying, undesirable content, internet rules. Thank you for providing this kit. It will be carefully packed away to reuse annually.
