Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I am comfortable teaching difficult content as it is so important. I also teach Year levels higher up in the school (Years 9 and 10) so I am often discussing difficult and more mature content.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? I think it is incredibly scary what our young people are being exposed to and participating in online!
Another awesome kit from Schoolkit. This kit is so important as young people are more and more exposed to unsafe content and online behaviours. It is vital that as teachers, we are open to teaching this content and giving our students safe strategies to use.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I had had a few issues during the year with my class and their online behaviours, from the simple friendship issues so we had already had conversations around this, with students and parents, and I was aware of the issues they faced.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit My students are Year 5 and 6 so I left a few of the cards out. What made me most uncomfortable was being unsure of how my parents community would react to a couple of the more risque scenarios, however, I got very good feedback from parents in regards to

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? My students can talk the talk, but I'm not sure they necessarily walk the walk. I can see that they definitely aren't old enough for social media. I guess it surprises me that parents let their students have social media, Tik Tok, etc accounts in Years 5
This kit came with a unique way of looking at digital behaviours and values. I loved the philosophical approach. It needed a bit of thought and reflection beforehand but was a good way to examine who we are in person and online.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Although one suspected that students were exposed and confronted by a range of issues it was in a sense eye opening that frequency was often and that most students did not really think some content they exposed to was harmful.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? That boundaries within the online world were blurry and that students often did not think that content they exposed to was wrong. Using social media and creating accounts using false information was seen as almost normal and they did not perceive it as ha
Our students really found this kit helpful and it is perfectly aimed at our year 7 and 8 students. Students loved that they could have their say using the marbles.

Did your perception of what issues were relevant to your class change? This could be from statements made or the marbles? Yes
In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I was astounded to hear how few boundaries had been out in place for many of students in the online world. It has made me wonder if we need to have some parent education available. I am also troubled by how many students regularly speak with people they

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I felt that at age 9 to 11 the more mature content was not relevant for all my learners. I do not want to be the person who introduces them to the language or idea of pornography so I did not use that part of the it with my class. Had I been in a differen

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Their openness surprised me. Although they were voting anonymously they were honest about the behaviours. This is thanks to the marble voting resource you provided, but it allowed me to get right to the relevant areas right away
This kit provided a great way for me to broach a tricky subject with my students. I have a year 5 and 6 class, many of them are proud gamers and access YouTube regularly. I found the tricky questions and voting with marbles a fantastic resource. Students could remain anonymous but we could hold discussions around some scary areas. I was really surprised at how many have strict physical boundaries but almost no online boundaries! Thank you for getting this kit out there to help us to teach our students how to protect themselves.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I have no issues with discussing ";difficult"; topics with my boys class as we had also gone through the ";Keeping Ourselves Safe"; Police kit earlier in the year. What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? That they knew what was acceptable online behavior however did not always practise this when they were online. Also that quite a few of them had been in uncomfortable online situations and that they found it quite scary. They also did not let their parent
I had been looking forward to receiving this kit. Because of lockdowns and more online learning/gaming the boys in the class are online for a huge percentage of time and there are little controls or supervision of sites and gaming that is happening. I love that the resources are easy to use and well explained. It is also really helpful that there are facebook posts and pintrist tags that support the teaching of the kit from School Kit. The teachers guide makes it very clear on how to progress through the kit and I also really like how the learning outcomes are clearly stated. The kit was particular relevant in todays world.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? They were really good at talking to each other about their experiences and ideas about situations.
This pack was well designed for my Year 7/8 class and covered a lot of relevant issues. The children enjoyed discussing the topic and listening to each other's ideas or reasons for the different decisions they had to make.
