Did your perception of what issues were relevant to your class change? This could be from statements made or the marbles? No
In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I edited the kit a little for our Year 4 age group and we are very big on korero about all topics including online safety. They had not considered boundaries before, so this was a great personification of online boundaries and they could easily relate aft

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I modified my kit to match year 4. We had already spoken about appropriate and inappropriate and what that looks and feels like this year, so they were not challenged by the choice of questions/cards/scenarios I chose to include.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? They were so invested and enthusiastic. I had not expected them to buy in quite so much. The marble voting and do and don’t posters were very effective messages for our class consensus on their behaviour.
This was the best kit from School Kit. I just love it. Have already put it into my plan for 2021. It was so rewarding for students to look at boundaries and build independently opinions. I have Year 4 students, this can be a very egocentric stage of development and taking ownership over their online choices, talking through potential scenarios relating to their online behaviour was clearly something they had never considered before. My class looked forward to each session and I had 100% participation in small group, pair &; class discussions. The information shared was authentic, relatable and extremely relevant. Thank you.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? They showed great maturity during discussions.
The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Activities can be adjusted to suit differing levels. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the resources in the box. Having names like curly on the That’s Out of Line cards was a brilliant idea. This strategy helped the students focus on the issues.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I was very comfortable with the content in the kit, mainly because I know it is an important area to discuss. I am a firm believer that we cannot keep students 'offline' and therefore they need to know how to keep safe online.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? I was surprised how many thought it was okay to be friends with someone they didn't know online, especially with online gaming. They knew not to share personal information, but did admit that over time they would consider that person to be a friend.
Informative and engaging resources for Year 6. They enjoyed the feelings activity and using the marbles to vote. As a teacher, some of the activities were quite hard to follow - I found myself having to reread the instructions quite a lot and having discussions with colleagues about how they had interpreted them. Some activities were also quite difficult to do with 30 students at once - like the Wise Response Decision Maker

Did your perception of what issues were relevant to your class change? This could be from statements made or the marbles? Yes
In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? The marble activity showed that a far greater percentage than I thought (and the class too) had been exposed to images and content online that was inappropriate. This sparked interesting discussions and how to make the wisest decision in these situations.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? The marble voting was a good idea however it was interesting the further into the activities we got the more willing the class were to discuss their personal experiences.
This kit has ignited some incredible discussions and decision making in the class. The resources provided and activities have been enjoyed by everyone. Thank you very much school kit team.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Whaat made them uncomfortable was a lot sooner than I would have thought, they were much more responsible and able to talk openly than I thought, one child was demonstrating much more unsafe behaviour online than I expected.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Their ability to discuss mistakes and admit things they had done.
This has been a fantastic kit to use this term -it fits in so well with the issues around self esteem, online behaviours, bullying. It has also fitted perfectly into our Sexuality Road unit. I am impressed with how relevant and on level it was for my students, they responded so well to the discussion and thinking elements and have been able to talk openly and honestly about their feelings, actions and changes they want to make.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? It was interesting to see the difference between how comfortable students felt with situations online vs offline. They seemed to have a very strong sense of the 'online me' vs the 'offline me' being two separate entities. Many students were uncomfortable

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit There were some topics that we did not cover as they aren't as prevalent in our school as perhaps other schools. Most students were quite mature about the content as we were able to have quite frank conversations around these.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? I think their learning around marrying the two versions of themselves into one. The way they viewed their confidence in real life vs online and how they would act or respond to things were so different in real life vs online.
This school kit was delivered over a two week intensive period linked to our school's digital citizenship programme. We had rich discussions and learning tasks around the activities that we were provided with and integrated these into our writing programme quite well. Students were able to deepen their thinking of their own and others' actions both online and offline. It gave students the opportunity to express themselves without the pressure of the teacher or others commenting on what they said out loud. The resources provided were extensive and provided a wide base on which to launch our digital citizenship lessons for term 4. They particularly enjoyed the ring of invisibility and almost all said they'd do something naughty or illegal. This lead to interesting conversations around our PRIDE value of integrity and how we should be showing our true selves 100% of the time. Overall, this kit has added to our depth of knowledge around online vs offline behaviour.

Did your perception of what issues were relevant to your class change? This could be from statements made or the marbles? Yes
In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I did not realise just how many risk minimisation strategies a lot of the students have already been using as well as how many students have seen uncomfortable content and didn't know how to process the situation at all. What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Again, it was the near 'group therapy session' that resulted from one of the lessons, where everyone shared their stories and supported one another wth methods that they found effective in terms of avoiding that risk in the future, from privacy setting ti
This resource helped to facilitate some clearly needed discussion. With 85% of the class indicating seeing something that had upset them, many students had stories to share. Some of the activities inspired discussion on methods they have used themselves to minimise their exposure to risky online situations, and the students appeared empowered about their choice of methods and autonomy as well as the shared experiences of others. Students also identified how each person has their own limits and boundaries and ideas of what is uncomfortable content, so students reported that they will reconsider sharing certain material with friends without consent to avoid harming their friends. A valuable and important series of lessons that both empowered and enabled students to feel more in control of their online lives.

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Many more children than I expected being found in awkward situations in a digital sense, which I had not expected considering the supervision levels our kids have.
