The sense of ";Getting back"; was very strong in a number of students and also that a number did not see any harm in some of the online issues such as pretending to be someone else. Again, these perceptions provided some great discussion points and opport

“The Digital Behaviors kit provided many tasks and opportunities for discussions between the students about issues that were real and relevant to their lives. I really enjoyed the balance of offline and online scenarios as these really engaged the students and we were able to build upon these discussions by talking about the strategies and possible responses. In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? The ";let's talk about porn"; teacher pd video was incredible. I never thought of it that way and it really opened my eyes to what kids might be searching.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I am all for educating students because I would rather they hear it from someone they can talk to further than searching it online. We had also finished puberty the term before so it was good timing.

“Was a really great kit and good timing for term 4. I did find some of the tasks hard to do in class . Examples of how to do it would have been helpful. The kids enjoyed seeing different ways to solve problems.”

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I had no issue covering the 'difficult' topics aspect of this kit as I taught the contents of this kit alongside our Keeping Ourselves Safe unit (run by the police) which also supported delivery with lots of resources.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How much theoretical knowledge they already have about keeping safe online. They have some excellent family rules about device use in their homes.

“This was a great topic to cover before my class transition to Intermediate next year. The parents were really happy that we were covering this content. We loved the scenario cards. It was nice to see how shocked the children were about the fictitious characters inappropriate behaviours. They sparked some interesting discussion sessions. This was a great tool for learning online boundaries.”
