What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Some students that are normally quiet in whole class situations spike up.

“Was suitable for intermediate students, however was not the easiest to follow. The kids were engaged.”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? They didn't. We have frequent discussions about ok online behaviour. Many of the issues relate to social media which I was aware of.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I was comfortable - we didn't discuss pornography but alluded to inappropriate images/content that can be found online - sometimes without intention.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How many of them seem to have unlimited amounts of time on screens/devices. Many were shocked that I unplug the internet modem from so that devices can't be accessed.

“While the idea behind the kit was a great one, I found it a little disjointed and some of the things were vague - the kids didn't really get them. I used some of the ideas but not others. What we did use generated some very good discussion and showed the students just how reliant they are on the online world - they could think of plenty of online boundaries but not many offline ones which I thought was interesting.”

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? The students were very open in our group and class discussions and this did surprise me as some students who are normally very quiet became quite involved due to aspects bought up in our discussions. The entire kit is so well put together to obtain and

“This unit has coincided so well with the school inquiry and unit on Keeping Ourselves Safe and also Sexuality Education. I have combined to three together and they compliment each other so well. The School Kit, Keeping It Inline is full of great novel activities that the students were immediately drawn to. It is very up front about issues and the students and I appreciate the open and honest feedback and discussions that we have had as a result of the units components and themes.”

“This kit was engaging to students and projected at the appropriate age level (Yr7&;8). It was really helpful in my class, especially after our lockdown period this year when a few students in particular had issues with cyber safety and sharing of passwords, viewing inappropriate content online etc.”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I experienced the same things these kids did when I was a child. I guess the difference is that for them it is so normalised to do these things where it wasn’t normal for children 10 years ago

“The content of the kit is great and really interactive. The instructions for teachers was really unclear so had to really research to understand how to use it. We want to do the same again next year such a good resource for kids to really broaden their understanding”
