“The self-esteem kit was an easy-to-use resource to support our learning of emotional awareness and control. I found this resource deep and meaningful to students as it asked tough questions for reflection and explored their values. Furthermore, the self-check-in was great to get a quick insight into their feeling for the day, with some pick-me-ups to brighten their day. It was great to see whānau engagement with tasks, particularly in my circle of trust. A great resource and one I highly recommend.”

“I used this at year 6 to 8 where self esteem is fluid, students are developing a sense of who they are and their place in the world. This resource helped me to build a unit of work to use at this level to help my students start to build a concrete sense of self esteem.”

I only had this class for a couple of hours so although I felt that they engaged well with the content during the lessons it would be difficult for me to assess how well it influenced how they interacted with students going forward.

How did the activity help students make connections between circuit theory and real-world applications? We did not have time to reflect on this unfortunately.

“I used some of the content as part of a Year 12 course in Well-being. We used the 'Circle of influence' sheets and then filled in the letter for one of the students most trusted adults which I thought was really good for the students to think about who would be there for them if they needed support, and they enjoyed acknowledging one of these people. However with the time constraints I had for this topic I would not recommend this course as I feel it needed more time devoted to it to get the full benefit.”

“The Self-Esteem 24 school kit has been a fantastic addition to our classroom resources. While we didn't end up using every single piece, we found the content to be high-quality and easy to adapt. We've actually been able to pull out various activities and lessons to use throughout the year, which makes the kit feel even more valuable. The parents in my class also had great feedback and really appreciated the focus on building confidence in their children. Overall, I'm very happy with this kit and would recommend it.”
