What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Many students said it was their favourite learning this year.
“My class and I absolutely loved this unit. It is the best one we have done so far. They loved eliminating things and trying to work out what was wrong and what they would do about it. It was really lovely seeing year 5/6 getting into play based learning and getting really passionate about it. This was well resourced and fun. I appreciate the person who shared their slides on the chat- this was a great starting place for me.”

Activities like using patient tracker sheets and comparing TPR results to normal ranges gave students a clear, structured way to approach problem-solving. They were able to practice eliminating possibilities step by step.

Acting as junior vets made it fun and showed the importance of problem-solving, observation, and teamwork. Some students even said they’d like to learn more about being a vet, so it really sparked their interest.

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Students enjoyed it and were excited whenever they saw 'Story Vets' written on the timetable for the day.
“Story Vets is a fun and creative idea, mixing vet science with storytelling to get kids thinking critically. The resources, like the coding tiles and patient tracker sheets, were really cool and visually appealing. That said, I found the lesson plans a bit tricky to follow, which made it hard to fit everything in with the time we had. Some of the activities were also a bit advanced for my students, so they struggled with parts of it. Overall, it’s a great resource, but it might work best if you’ve got the time to break it down and adapt it for your class.”

How did this resource help students understand process of elimination using data analysis? We were able to eliminate things as a group based on the knowledge from each test. Lots of rich discussion about the different vocabulary.

“The students loved the kit and had amazing engagement throughout the lessons. We unpacked the different stories beforehand, looked at the animals and then afterwards wrote another ending that included their ailments. The range of information for each animal was great with some videos, tests etc... they really loved it.”

“We did not do the coding. Instead the students read the stories in groups and made them into plays for the rest of the class. Apart from that, the kit was engaging and informative.”
