What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? The students loved the posters and hands on material. The parents who were vets were happy to see our students learning about vets.
“My class enjoyed the Vets school kit. They were engaged in the content and loved reviewing and exploring the diagnosing process for the animals. We even got a local vet nurse to come in and share their experience. The school kit website had great videos that were entertaining and educational.”

“I used this for Term 1 in table groups. They had an absolute ball learning about the different animals and the tests they used. They loved being able to use them on themselves. We found it covered so many different learning areas as well.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Parentes were intrigued by the broad learning their children were recieving. Coming from a farming community, parents loved that learners were asking more questions about the health of the animals and how to care for them.
“"I want to be an animal doctor in real life." was a line I heard multiple times throughout this learning process. It was wonderful to see and hear the learners get really involved in character/role play and take in the information about vets. The line of questioning that followed about the health of animals on their various farms showed me that they took the learning and contextualised it, showing true interest in the topic.”

This resource helped students understand elimination by using real animal data to rule out incorrect diagnoses. They had to justify their choices, reinforcing logical thinking and evidence-based decision-making. The hands-on vet role-play made data analysis engaging and meaningful.

Yes, this kit gave students insight into the skills vets use, such as data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making. By working through diagnoses and justifying their conclusions, they saw how vets rely on evidence and critical thinking. The hands-on experience made these skills feel real and relevant. As well as linking it to at/per day and our play based area enabled them to roleplay being a vet and practice some of those skills.

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Students loved the hands-on vet role-play and enjoyed diagnosing and rewriting animal stories. They found the process engaging and felt like real veterinarians. Parents appreciated how it connected to real-world careers and Ag/Pet Day, with some noting their children talked excitedly about what they learned at home. We even had our vet mum come in to to share about her job and experiences!
“The Story Vets kit is an engaging, hands-on way for students to develop analytical thinking, problem-solving, and storytelling skills. By stepping into the role of veterinarians, students apply real-world diagnostic processes—examining animal data, eliminating possibilities, and justifying their conclusions. This approach deepens their understanding of logic, coding, and narrative structure while making learning meaningful and interactive. I particularly enjoy linking this kit to our annual Ag/Pet Day, which makes the learning experience more relevant and exciting for students. Setting up a vet-themed play space in the back of the classroom allows for immersive role-play, helping students connect with the content in a fun and practical way. Through this kit, students not only strengthen their ability to analyse information and communicate findings but also reimagine storytelling by exploring different outcomes based on their diagnoses. As well learning what’s involved in being a vet!”
