What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Being a rural school within a farming community, students had some prior knowledge about animal care and were therefore able to share their personal lived experiences, alongside the information and learning opportunities provided within the 'Vet School 24' kit.
“Students were highly engaged in the 'Story Vets 24' kit of resources and found them interesting, challenging and fun! The storyboarding activity, completed in small groups, was a great way of showing the sequence of events for each story, using images. Students enjoyed the venn diagram activity and were able to use the information they had learnt, to present this knowledge in a visual format. Critical thinking skills were utilised to reach a diagnosis for the presenting ailments of each of the four animals. It was a great co-operative learning experience, in order for students to analyse the information and data to successfully deduce what all of the presenting symptoms were caused by.”

How did this resource help students understand process of elimination using data analysis? It provided opportunities for them to look at many different pieces of evidence and using this they were able to form conclusions about which data they needed to use and which was not useful.

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? The students made lots of comments about how fun it was, they loved getting to do grown up jobs, they found it hands-on and learnt how to persevere.
“My Year 4 class throughally enjoyedthe Story Vets school kit. They are obsessed with animals and enjoyed being "vets" for the day. It helped them justify their thinking and engaged their problem solving skills”

How did this resource help students understand process of elimination using data analysis? It put them into a 'real-life' environment and situation which made it easier for them to really understand the concept of why and how we use the process of elimination.

I believe so, they were at least inspired to learn more and perhaps further explore this as a career in the future - my class was full of aspiring vets prior to the unit, but afterwards they were even more inspired.

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? They LOVED the inspiration station/vet set up area. They really loved how we made it fit across all areas of learning too.

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? For one student, it was her highlight of the year so far. It has sparked an interest in becoming a Vet.
“I chose this School Kit because so many of my Year 5/6 students have the ambition of becoming a vet one day. Our class throughly enjoyed the problem solving elements the Kit provided. The Kit also encouraged the development of critical thinking and logical deduction. Great for discussions! It was fantastic to have a resource which could be easily integrated into literacy lessons as well.”
