“A little bit hard to understand when I first looked over the kit. After talking to another teacher who had used the kits before it made a lot more sense. Kids loved the different resources and classroom engagement and enjoyment was really high.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? They liked learning about the testing vets do and the problem solving elemenr of the job. They liked the props and documents. They didn't like the fairytale.
“I used this kit as part of my reading group. We first read a school journal story about diagnosing animals and how we see inside. The kids loved being hands on with the props such as the x rays and test tubes, and listening to the heart beats and breaths. They didn't enjoy the fairytale story attached to the cases as this felt babyish to them. I would rate this kit a lot higher if more realistic cases were used since the age range extended to year 8 kids.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? The children love every opportunity to be in the 'vet' area in our class and have continued to move items around to suit themselves. Also using the glasses and QR codes was exciting. There were so many elements to use. It was interesting watching and listening to the children sort out what resources went with what animal. I posted photos and videos on our Seesaw site and children and parents alike have been very enthusiastic in their responses.
“It was an amazing School Kit because most of the children had prior knowledge about pets and some about taking their pets to a vet. Also it was great for team work. It provided and continues to provide opportunities for discussion. The children had fun eliminating and diagnosing using the information provided. They could then use the information to work together to solve the problems. These skills will then transfer to other learning.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? Sadly, the feedback I received from my learners was that they found it too difficult, which led to a lack of interest.
“The kit was excellent, but I don’t think it was suitable for my Year 4 students. It required higher-level thinking and more independent initiative, whereas they still need substantial teacher support. While they were initially interested, they lost engagement quickly. Perhaps I was too eager to implement everything at once and wasn’t able to fully support the Story Vets process.”
