“I changed the program a bit to better fit my yr 9/10 agriculture class so we did a large amount of it based around farm animals and the issues that these animals can have. The students go really into and were able to explain why some things happened over other things. They were then able to link it to economic impacts that it can have.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? They really enjoyed it being hands on and the link to our other learning areas.
“The set-up of the Vet created a great provocation. We were doing narrative writing so it fit in REALLY well with that. We were also looking at different careers, so being a Vet was a great lead in to that. Awesome links to further learning. The plan was quite full so we didn't get through everything. It could be broken down a bit further, perhaps into individual 40min lessons would be useful.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? High engagement, loved it, students from other classes came to have a look and a play.
“Oh wow, Story Vets were great. Comments from students "I felt like a real vet" "When we went and diagnosed a real horse with a sore hoof, I felt I helped her out" "I knew what I was looking for". The class went to visit Zac the horse, who had a similar hoof issue to the x-ray. It was such a great learning experience. Afterwards students wanted to make pet blankets and toys for SPCA and we did a fund raiser. Thanks SchoolKit.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? The students really enjoyed this kit. they were suprosed that they were able to accurately diagnose what had happened to their chosen animal.
“I teach a boy heavy year 8 class. I have a few students that I know want to be vets, and a few students that love all things farming. This meant that they were engaged from the beginning. The integration of the fairy tales was a cool way to get them predicting where the kit might go. We don't have a lot of access to devices in our school so the coding didn't get completed, but the rest of the work was great. I loved the props and the website at the end-to see if their diagnosis was correct was very clever. I found the teacher guide was a little tricky to understand at times. It may have been my own settings on my computer which meant when I clicked on hyperlinks the teacher guide would dissapear and I found that where the hyperlinks took me, it wasn't always clear what the next step was for me/the students. I made it work though, and as I mentioned earlier my students were constantly engaged.”
