How did this resource help students understand process of elimination using data analysis? We did learning around what all the parts of the diagnostic process including the process of elimination before doing our practice case study together.

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? We did a review at the end and overall was good but the students felt we did it for too long. Some struggled doing the scratch task in the time we had so while some had great success, others needed more time to get their heads around it. While it did increase understanding of the standard tests, this could be missed next time and the kahoot would still cover this.
“Our year 7/8 class used the Story Vets as the basis for a unit covering most of term 3. We used it across most of the curriculum. Students wrote letters of application to our 'vet school', completed reading and comprehension activities, used the scratch for digi tech and created kahoots for sharing their learning, looked at social sciences aspects of vets as part of the service industry and their role in the community, as well as completing their case study and more. We loved the professional looking forms and the students enjoyed the 3D glasses. Great resources and links - made it very cool to teach too. Thanks heaps School Squad Kit, Anexa and other supporters.”

“This kit provided students with a chance to investigate how vets make diagnoses. The class enjoyed questioning everything and then finding out for themselves if they were right.”

What feedback have you received from students or parents about the learning in this kit? A fascination with bones and body parts! Tamariki demonstrating more curiosity about animals, medicine and their wellbeing.
“As well as the great diagnosing activities, we were able to do so much with this kit - we wrote alternative endings for the fairytales and studied bones of some of these animals and compared them to smaller creatures and the human skeleton system as part of our Scale of the Universe inquiry.”
