Excellent school kit which greatly assisted in the planning and motivating of our students to participate in a SVA community action.

We had a great time giving back to our community - hiding rocks for a big rock challenge to create a community event

The SVA kit was a great kit to engage our learner's in the community. Learner's decided to do a clean up at our local Park Island area. Initially it didn't look like there was much to clean up but after looking closer we managed to fill up a few bags of rubbish including a pair of undies, a baby jandal and some other unusual items. Finding a ball was a bonus as they got to use that! After cleaning up and going on a walk the kids enjoyed a shared lunch that they had organised. Thanks School Kit. (Photos to follow)

Schoolkit have yet again created a stunning kit that engages both students and the teachers involved. This year, our projects have included a beach cleanup and Christmas Boxes for children in need. We are currently still in the process of filling these boxes but our students have been gathering gifts and items to fill the boxes which will then be distributed by local community groups. Students are learning the importance of gratitude and of giving back to the community in which they live. We love being involved in this kit every year!

The kit was excellent and we went through the whole process of deciding what our project would be, its name and assigning roles. We planned the day and then at the last moment had to postpone the main project to next year owing to the area we were going to clean up suddenly covered in road works. The volunteers who were going to help us no longer wished to work in that environment. Instead we scaled this down to a clean up of our immediate school environment and this did not then need an HQ, catering etc. It was just as well as the planned day had foul weather. However, the process was valuable and the students learnt much about themselves and the logistics of planning, communicating and budgeting for large event incorporating outside folk. We have photos of the school clean up if you would be interested and it will lead to a report in the school newsletter about single use plastic and how it is fouling our school area and hence the wider area outside of the school.

I found it really found to complete with my NE Year 1 students and trying to fit it in has been hard. They are starting to understand that it's good to do things for other though which is awesome.
