“Really good overview of the tax system and the different ways that tax is spent. Students enjoyed creating the back stories of the different people and thinking about the tax system - it was good way of getting students to think outside their immediate experience. They struggled to write the tax story for the whole supermarket.”

What made you decide to undertake a tax based programme and specifically the Part of something bigger kit for your students? The students had been asking for more financial based topics in class

If you were to re use this resource in the future, how would you see yourself doing this? (Eg, as a full unit, separately in other units of work, integrating into cross curricular lesson plans) As part of our migration unit. The lack of scratchies would be a pain but I might just print homemade copies and staple closed some for a similar effect

What made you decide to undertake a tax based programme and specifically the Part of something bigger kit for your students? We are looking at financial literacy.

If you were to re use this resource in the future, how would you see yourself doing this? (Eg, as a full unit, separately in other units of work, integrating into cross curricular lesson plans) I think I would use it with an older year group, not year 9. They were just too immature. I would look also at redoing some of the activities, as some of them are quite dry.
