In what ways did this kit develop understanding of the cultural significance of water in Te Ao Māori? We have talked about the significance of the Buller (Kawatiri) to the maori

“We have not managed to go out to visit our local river (the Buller) because each time we have planned to go the river has been too high or it has been raining. We have done a lot with the kit however, such as learning how to classify creatures and even had a expert visit from Ag research to talk about water care and he told us about a clear streams project that he was working on. He bought in some water creatures for us to classify and look at through a microscope. We used the kit to do the classification with. We still aim to head out to our local rivers to carry out the testing. Thanks for the very useful kit that we will use over and over again.”

In what ways did this kit develop understanding of the cultural significance of water in Te Ao Māori? Found we didn't give it the time and attention it required for it to have been very effective. COVID really threw everything for a spin as well as school requirements.

“This was a great idea but found it challenging as the teacher trying to manage each different aspect of the the testing. I think maybe if there were 4 tests it would have been great and we could've gone in-depth a lot more but understandably no one wants to plan a trip to a stream for a quick visit.”
