This kit was clear and easy to use, it was engaging and challenging for my students. We were learning about the water cycle and the way water is used in our comminuity and it linked in nicely. Students were clearly able to see thier own water consumption and how this effects the local water supply.

Water Savers was a fantastic launch into our engineering inquiry unit! We used the water savers kit to explore the water usage and environmental issues surrounding water. We then looked at case studies around the world where countries have had to use engineering solutions to solve environmental water issues eg. Kuwait, Panama Canal, Botswana Pipeline, Murrurundi. Lastly, we explored how all every day items require water in their production cycle and chose an item each and designed ways to reduce their environmental impact. This could have continued on and on due to the engagement of the water savers kit! The only downside was the stamps were quite labour intensive with a large classroom!

Got very busy near the end of the term but a great one to just squeeze in and have a bit of fun learning. Kids were super interested and surprised about how much was used etc and made them start to realise and think of ways that they can reduce their usage.

This kit was a great way to teach my Year 4-5 class about saving water. Over 10 days, they investigated water-saving claims and learned about things like measuring water and working together to make a difference. It connected to real-world issues like water scarcity and climate change. A fun and important resource!

What influence has this kit had in promoting the longevity of water saving habits and what other water related topics did your students come up with? I thinThe idea of turning the tap off when not using it had a big impact. They are young but when you put it into something that they can see it has a bigger impact and this is an easy thing to make a change on without their parents involvement.

I have Year 3 and 4s, I know it wasn't for Year 3s particularly but they did really well. The visuals were really good, although too large for my classroom to be permanently displayed which was a shame. The collecting food scraps one was the hardest one to meausre.
